No. Only a tampanensis culture. And I didn?t inoculate birdseed with tampanensis, that wouldn?t make sense.
I inoculated birdseed to make some spawn for dung inoculation.

Remember sclerotia are designed by nature to be a Resting, and protective structure. Mushrooms are to make spores. Mushrooms are 8% dry matter, sclerotia are 30%. That is the beauty of sclerotia and there true desirability. Long term STRAIN storage. I'm using the ones formed invitro on agar for this very purpose!!!!!
Just culture the things and see what it looks like on agar. You will know what it is for sure!!!!!!!

Well it would seem that you have misidentified tamp spores labeled as pan cyans. Try to figure out the print that these originated from for future reference. I am always on the look out for better tamp cultivars.

You can cultivate from dried mushrooms if the gills are intact and the mushrooms are not too old. Remove bits of gill and place on antibiotic agar. Very often there are viable spores still in place on the gills. Depending on the condition of the dried mushrooms, there may be extreme amounts of contamination on the culture, but it can be cleaned with careful agar isolations.
