    #3171576 - 09/23/04 07:07 PM (19 years, 6 months ago)

I was wondering if there is anyone in PA here that can give me some tips on hunting. i guess ohio and new york have the same climate so anyone from around here can help also. All i see on the forum is mostly washington and oregon and in the south and dont see much about the northeast.

You really won't find much in the great state of Pennsylvania...look in horse shit mixed with stable shavings or rotting hay piles for panaeolus subbalteatus, and look on rotting logs, stumps, or woodchips for gymnopilus spectabilis and gymnopilus aeruginosus...oh yeah you can also possibly find the elusive psilocybe caerulipes in woodchips or on rotting logs...but good luck with that...

On my back and tumbling
Down that hole and back again
Rising up
And wiping the webs and the dew from my withered eye.

Definately...thats not cool, if you want to get into mushroom hunting at all you should read up alot on this stuff, one wrong identification could end up to a trip to the hospital...if you're really serious about mushroom hunting, then go buy a book...otherwise just do a lot of reasearch about the shrooms themselves and look alikes so you don't kill yourself...
