Sorry about the title, But i got a question.
AFOAFhas a cake in a terrarium being fanned 3 times a day with an approximate humidity of 98% it is just not got a few pins showing up, for the first flush but it's turning blue....anyone got a guess why?

i think this is answered somewhere on here already, but lower the humidity man, itll flush after its dried a bit..
look for that other post, theres some good (read:more experienced) minds answering there.

Dudedid u read about cultivation at all before u did this? cause if u did u would know that 98 humidity is way too high, and they turn blue because of the bruising process, but their turning blue probably cause ur humitity and u they need more fanning

The cakes blue because there dehydrated.Use the Doulble ended cake casing tek to get numerous flushes on cakes.
Pf's website explains the casing tek.

Shouldn't you shoot for 100% relative humidity? The more the better right? Just as long as theres no water on the cake itself. To help achieve higher humidity i have a ultrasonic mister about 8 inches below my rack for my terarium that im making, itll help right? I have 12 jars in water up to their wastes at 86 degree water, only 3 days old and most are showing lots of growth, especially one that i innoculated with a full 3" diameter tazmanian spore print, the full 10 cc in one jar, just to see what happens, its really cool.... Shoulda seen how dark that syringe was.... Lol.. annnyways im just rambling... The higher the humidity the better am i correct or totally clueless?

blueing is caused from lack of water content, when you birth a cake it starts to loss moisture fairly rapidly. a double ended casing will rehydrate the cake. R U could dunk it, when a cake flushes all the moisture is absorb up into the mushrooms hence the main reason shrooms are 92% wieght by water. after the flush the cakes turn blue from lack of water so when U double end case it the cakes revive and turn whit again then flush again, if it's the first flush and U have a few pins and now the cake is turning blue guess what? your not going to get a flush, so either U didn't use enough water in the first place when U made up the substrate are U dried the cake out during sterlization, It looked good in the jar right but when u released it from the jar what little moisture was left has now gone by by, if U want to save it, pick off all the pins then give it a double ended casing. fan and mist 4 times aday when the cake turns white again it will then flush. but if U fuck around trying to grow out those pins which won't because there is now not enough water to do so, then when U totally drain the cake off all it's moisture U will no longer have a cake that can fruit, the mycel will die and you'll be pissed off for not double ending casing.
