One thing I'm getting tired of

is the way we're treated as customers at retail stores. EVERY store now seems to have the policy of making the cashiers sound like asses for having to ask the dumbest questions. Once I walked into a Funcoland/Gamestop and the woman working there immeditly greeted me with a "Welcome to Gamestop! What game will we be reserving today?!"
WHAT THE HELL! I didn't even say I was interested in a game, let alone RESERVING a game! I've never seen the point of reserving a game/movie/cd anymore because places rarely sell out, especially with the amount of stock a place like Best Buy has.
The other annoyance is being asked if I'd like to subscribe to a magazine, buy a gift card, supersize it, became an awards points member, or any number of offers I have absolutly no interest in. I really feel bad for the people working there more then anything, but it sucks ass.
Actually, I just want to track down whatever executive/manager thought of this idea and constantly ask them if they want to buy random shit, as well as the idiots who actually ask about being an "awards member" or whatever other stupid programs they have there that make buying a pack of batterys a ten hour chore.

CRM at it worst.
The premise is that any interaction with a customer is a chance to increase loyalty and learn more about the customer and their spending habits. After I graduate, I'll be the asshole manager implementing these strategies to get you people to spend your money.
You won't believe how formulaic this has become.

I work at officemax and its starting to get really lame. Cashiers are suposed to ask for like 5 things at the regist. ink+paper, maxassurance(scam), donations, max perks.
They show us videos now how to trick the customer into buying a piece of paper.

Please, for the love of god, do all that's in your power to change this unreveserable trend.

Man, that's awful. Do you have to ask each one, one at a time?
I also don't like the "Greeters", mainly because it's an awkward social interaction because you never know whether or not to look right at them or pretend like you don't see them. Not that I mind friendlyness, but they're usually there to prevent theft moreso then to be nice.
