1: Put water in a container big enough to hold your amount of cakes.(Enough to submerge cakes completely)

2: Put cake(s) into the container

3: If you can, put something on top of the cakes to hold them under water(they float).(If you cant find anything, I find that you can simply flip the cakes every so often.)

4: Cover the container with foil and put into the refrigerator.(Leave in the refrigerator for about 12-15 hours).

5: Put in fruiting chamber(cake or case)

What's worked best for me is getting a large, clean pot that you might use for cooking noodles and such, with lid. Fil about 3/4 full of water and chuck in your cakes, make sure the cakes are floating to the very top.. if they're not there add some more water slowly and then put on your lid upside down (curved side down).. making sure none leaks out.. if the cakes are pushing up the lid use something heavy to push em down a bit.. don't use too much force.

OR

Use a water pitcher (same kind you use when grandma' comes over and wants her prune juice) with plastic lid... repeat steps above, close lid and turn so the vents arent in the pouring part. Easy as pie.

OR

You could just fill up every jar you have (after taking some of the dryish verm off) with water and let them float... close the lid to each jar and refrigerate.

Those three work best for me.

You can take his advice but I've always found that dunking/rehydrating your cakes is THE BEST way to get larger first flushes and makes the cakes go and go and go. Sure they'll fruit without rehydration but your results will vary.

I will alway recommend dunking because of the results which follow. I've dunked in the original 1/2pt. jar after a through cleaning and disinfecting and I've dunked all the cakes together in a large tupperware and burped it until water came out leaving no air gap. I always fridge dunk 24hrs. reguardless. I also dunk in distilled water. GL
