Getting past my ego mind
    #3169640 - 09/23/04 01:17 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

About a year ago I had an incredible trip where I definitely had ego loss. In fact when I first regained consciousness I couldn't remember my name for a while. But since then I haven't been able to get to the point of ego loss again. I'm trying. I consciously try not to think and concentrate on what I'm experiencing.

I think I'm on to what might be the problem. This is from an article I found on erowid by Timothy Leary: "But ego-game reactions - 'I am having this ecstasy. How lucky I am!' - can prevent the subject from reaching pure ego loss."

That's what I'm doing. I'm so grateful for what I'm experiencing that I find myself curled in a ball with my eyes welling up. Can anyone recommend some things to try to get beyond these "ego games"?

Adam

go with the "this isnt shit method"

Look at everything like it isnt shit, what Im saying is make whatevers important to you, not a big deal......i mean everything, people, things, events, your environment......but not from a negative way, just make yourself feel more important then other things, after doing this for a while, youll start to realized, reality isnt shit, nothing matters, then you reach the point were your gonna need to cancel yourself out, because your not shit either, and there you have it, ego loss...

pees

It just happens randomly to me. Well, not exactly randomly, I believe that it's meant to happen at certain times.

You have to see with new eyes, and hear with new ears in every moment.

I have lately been finding myself thinking life is very distasteful and negative, but today I reminded myself to look up and see the clouds and trees. A master artist truly could not have painted a more beautiful and meaningful masterpiece.

The only advice I can give is: don't force it!

If you do...you'll either get nowhere at all, or someplace you just don't want to be
