the wierdest thing happened to my friends shrooms, the substrate never colonized, but the top of the lid did. the top of the lid is covered in mycelium, but after breaking apart the substrate, it was not colonized at all.

What trying do you do? kill I?

lol, me thinks you have cobweb mold not mycelium.... But if it isn't cobweb mold, which I suspect it is, then its possible that the substrate was too wet, too dry, etc....

But are you sure it isn't cobweb mold? It sure seems likely with that description.

im pretty sure it's not cobweb mold, but it don't matter, my friend tossed the whole thing anyways. His other 6 jars colonized just fine.

What trying do you do? kill I?
