russula emetica question

hey sorry to bother you but i see these eaten up and pulled out of the ground all the time.. so im wondering what sort of life eats these.. my guess is deer>?.. also i find mostly they just eat the red off of it and leave the rest.. anyone else find that?.. also are emitica known to be non toxic fresh/consumable for humans(raw or cooked)? sorry for all the questions and thanks everyone for helping me fall in love with fungi :tongue2:

I think some of the flesh just falls apart in time, while growing or from being disturbed. The flesh consistancy of them are kinda brittle. im sure there are bugs that eat away at them though. The specimans i find rarely have any insects on them.

mountain bikers always kick them here. hard to find a non broken one along a trail. i have only seen millipedes eating them.

Squirrels. I've seen it many, many times in the woods. So it's likely that other small mammalians enjoy them as well.
