Reuse those cakes

I have done this 3 times now (and maybe many others have to, or at least thought about it) I take my cakes after the 2nd or 3rd flush and recrumble them mix them in with dung and cover them for 7-10 days I then put them in a bin with a clear shower curtain over the top and allow the sun to shine down on them about 1-3 days later pins start forming and the boomers keep get a little bigger-more like the pics on hawks but not quite--I figured contamination would reek havoc on the mycelium but it has not yet and this is the 3rd time and I get less aborts(non noticeable the last time)and there pinning again. Anyone have similar luck or stories??
oh yeah and I never have put a casing layer on the 2nd or now the 3rd time.

yes.. i kinda have done the same thing. with my cakes i just crumble them up into pots (as in, pots meant for plants) with soil and wait for some flushes... the shrooms from that are actually quite "hardy"

I've heard of a few people recasing and/or doing similiar things or just crumbling the cakes up and recasing. Never tried it, but I might give it a shot some time in the future. As long as it works its definately better than letting the cakes sit til they get contaminated ; )
