spore printing

How long until after i see the gills is the appropriate time to produce a spore print? The mushroom is not very big, maybe 3 inches at the most, and the cap is the size of the tip of my ring finger. I can see the gills, i was just wondering if i should let it grow, or if it will too late.

wait until you see some spores on the stem then pick and make a print.You might not get a full print but you'll get a print usually.Should help you get the hang of it.

If you will get the cap just before/as/after the veil breaks and leave on printing surface 8-12 hrs(24 get's them all), you will get VERY nice prints like these...

Tonite I am taking a print, it's not very big tho, so i was wondering if i could still make a lot of syringes, or if it would just be best to innoc a few jars. The cap is about as big as the tip of my thumb now. I really wish i had a camera! Anyways, thanks again to all you that have helped. Long live the Shroomery!
