first time inoculation

Hey guys,
Well today was the first time experience with incoculation. I'm a little concerned about contamination. Okay I'm alot concerned. I used this weird black electrical tape (my next batch I cut that out and used masking tape) and I noticed the holes were colored maybe an orangey color. I wiped it off, and sterilized the syringe real good. Should I just mark this off as a contam batch?

Thanks I feel much better.
Can you get plastic lids separately or do can you get them with the 1/2 pints.
How do I get my hands on these.

They sell them seperately. Usually right next to the jars at the store. Of course, the jars come in dozens and the lids come in packs of 8. It's getting that time of year. They should be readily available.
