Both rare and beautiful flower?
    #3160869 - 09/21/04 06:12 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

What are some beautiful flowers that you know of, but have never really see much of. When I start my garden next summer, I want to put in some plants that are both beautiful and rare...but not so rare that I wouldn't be able to find any seeds for it. If you could only name 2 or 3 just absolutely gorgeous plants, what would they be (doesn't have to be psychoactive - I think that's the word)?

Currnetly my favorite plants in my garden are a tall red spiked celosia, a cypress vine (attracts hummingbirds), and a dozen types of coleus. Plants rock!

If you're looking for beauty try the relative to morning glory: the Moonflower Ipomea alba. Produces large pearlescent white flowers. It's a climber, and make take a year or two to flower.
