Drug Experiments to change brain chemistry.....

Okay so last night I was having some stoner talk with my friends bro....
The convo was about if it was possible to trick the brain into thinking things... He has small bouts of depression and was reading books written by/about albert einstine...
As we all know physcodelics do have the possibility of changing brain chemistry... For the good or the bad....
Here is what I was wondering.... Is it far fetched to think that on a normal no depressive, happy day for him. If he were to take a medium/high dose of acid/shrooms and trip, the whole time me and my friend there to sink happy feelings and thoughts into his mind... maybe it is possible that it can alter his brain into thinking more happily after the trip?
Just I thought, who knows... but its worth the experiment.

It's never a bad idea to send good vibes to another person. Who knows? Maybe it will help him. In fact, I think it will.
The way I see it, anytime you focus your awareness on something with the intent of changing its outcome, you can actually tilt the quantum mechanical scales in your favor. In other words, you can choose the reality.
Princeton Engineering Anomolies Reasearch has done alot of work accumulating hard evidence that normal people have the ability to effect the outcome of random occurences with will power and attention alone.

It's never a bad idea to send good vibes to another person.
As "good vibes" cannot be generated nor sent, it is not a "bad" idea; just a useless idea.

Perhaps... It would be useless if he doesn't percieve those feel good emotions as good emotions under that altered state. But if he were to, then it may be successful..

My opinion: Yeah you might change him, and psychedelics could open him up/help imprint a new point of view...then again you may not even need drugs. Just being positive around him as much as possible and having him actively try to cultivate a positive state of mind (that's the most important thing) could very well put him there. He may have a "chemical imbalance" I guess, but I think that people forget how much influence they have on determining their own state of mind. Always look on the bright side of life I guess.

even within the realm of psychotropic herbs, there are probably more reliable things than the psychedelics to lift depression...

Oh shit!!
Thats what I did 2 days ago..........my dad pissed me off so I left my house to some park......I sat on a bench and thought......why am i angry? this is retarded.......then a though poped in my head...how do i feel in a dream? then I thought...hhm, maybe I can trick my brain into thinking that i am in a dream......so after 30 min of convincing myself (thinking that im in a bed and this is a really vivid lucid dream, i finally realized....ok im dreaming.....this has also made me realize that IM DOING THE SAME THING WHEN I MEDITATE!! WTF???!!........althought i didnt 100% convince myself that, but realized that reality is exactly like a dream, its just tooo lucid.......what im saying is your friend needs to do it himself, unless he looks up to you, and will listen to what you say, cuz when your depressed you can really misconsieve what others are saying.........
ex, happy person: everything is beautiful thoughts: none ^^^^ those are the thoughts
depressed:yep (said yeah not to ruin your day) thoughts (why cant I see everything like he does, im a loser)
happy: lets get some ice cream to make this day better thoughts: none ^^^^^ depressed: that sounds great (again, said yeah not to ruin your day) thoughts (how can you think of ice cream when im feeling like this)
this is a really fucked up explanation, but it gets the point accross,.......the depressed person has to face his problems first, although it can be through other people to help him, but the person needs to find a mechanism that works and he/she can rely on so he doesnt get depressed again.......
although you can explain to him how reality works, thats what got me out of my depression that lasted 14 years.
I love compassionate people like yourself, hope you can help him.......pees

I'm not sure if they change your brain chemistry, but I'm certain constant usage of drugs can permanently change your thought patterns. Many people have experienced the phenomenon where they've used a certain drug so many times that there's really nothing new to experience while under the influence of it anymore. This happened to me with both cannabis and DXM. I've used both so many times that I don't experience any change in mental state because the thoughts that would come to me while using them are part of my everyday sober mental state now. I literally don't get 'high' from either any more, I only feel the physical effects of each. (This isn't an issue of tolerance either because I've went 6 months sober for a time and when I tried them again they still had no effect.)

i don't think you should mastermind this idea to feed this man drugs and give him a good time.... if he approaches psychedelics on his own accord, then sure you could be there to give him guidance. find some other activity to get him interested in, something that gets him to take part in a community..... i imagine you're younger, maybe a science fiction convention, or something, if he has some interest in that, but never took part of those.

Drugs have been proven to alter brain chemistry, but I can't say the same for vibes. I suppose it couldn't hurt...but you might be setting yourself up for disappointment.

...vibes are definately real
A flat statement with no substantiation is worthless. If vibes were "definately" real, then it is possible to demonstrate. Can you do this?

LSD helped usher me into my longest depression in my young days.
WhiteRussians example is exactly how my thoughts progressed...
