True, though you can greatly reduce the time by grafting peyote onto a faster-growing cactus like san pedro or peruvian.
Aside from that, I'm quite sure there are some subjective differences in the trip caused by the different species. There are about 50 known psychoactive chemicals in peyote...the ammounts of each will be different for other species of cactus, of course, and some chemicals may not be present at all in other species.
I think the point to be made here is: at least you have the choice of which cactus you want to have/grow
Once, men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free.
But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.
Peyote doesnt take long to grow on one of those........
And think about this(as I have) You have tons of pereskiopsis cuttings, millions of peyote seeddlings, and then you go on a grafting spree after awhile(months later ) those buttons have to come off and be planted in the ground or put on a bigger cacti, like a sand pedro, the point I am, trying to make here is with enough seeds and grafting stock, You could have more peyote then you know what to do with.......hence you could have FAT regualr buttons planted , peyote on pedro etc etc.
I will let you know how its going for me in about 6 months
