did you smack the jars so that the cakes fall and aren't sticking to the bottom? do that if colonization slows where it is sticking to the bottom. the myc needs air to grow. i just did it this morning and the myc is eating the BRF up!

I'd just let 'em incubate at room temperature. Sounds like the heat pad may be drying your jars. Dunk them once they are fully colonized. B+ is a very forgiving strain... you'll be fine.

I use a heating pad myself for incubation... why do you have it on HIGH? My house sits at around 72 most of the time so I put the jars in a rubbermaid with a towel on the bottom. I have a thermomiter in there and my temps are from 82-86 all day long and I only have my heating pad on LOW. Do you have a thermomiter? You should really check out the temps. you're getting, esp. with it on high heat. I left it on low without the towel on the bottom on my first batch and they got up to the mid-90's. My jars dried out and stopped growing. The only thing I could do with them was start an outdoor patch, and that's gone very well so far.

Check your temps. You can get a thermomiter at a Pet store for $1-5, it's worth it.
