types of compost
    #3156736 - 09/20/04 04:21 PM (20 years, 3 months ago)

Hello, I am considering spawning WBS to compost... the question is, what kind of compost should I use? I havent found very much concrete informaiton on the subject, so hopefully someone here can help me out.
I dont have an outdoor area to make my own compost, but there are several sources:

Types im considering:
chopped leaf/woof compost 1+ years old..my city has a public compost pile, so this would be the cheapest and easiest to get

store bought compost or manure... i've heard mixed things about this... i have the ability to pasturize if needed

Get compost from some farmer.. harder to find

Would left compost be adequate?

What minerals do i have to add to it?

Any other suggestions?

thanks.

Compost does not equal compost. Mushroom compost is a specially prepared compost for the sole purpose of growing mushrooms.
The main ingredient is straw and/or horse manure and several additives.
