They are definitely not P. silvatica. And the umbo is too much for a LBM. But I can difinitely say they are not P. semi or silvatica or pelliculosa. I have seen them befor e somewhere but cannot recall.

mj

I sent further info with his pm as he mentioned.

"the umbo is to much for a LBM" uhh MJ dude I think by definition there is no question that the mushrooms he found are "LBM's". Why the forever pesimist? If they arent silvatica or pelliculosa then what are they? We need a better answer than the abigious "I have seen them somewhere but cannot recall". Maybe they remind you of the mushrooms at the bottom of your pizza box MJ.

It would be really nice to know what these mushrooms are if they are none of those mentioned so far (semi, silvatica, pelliculosa). If someone has more guesses please throw 'em in here... I can't get no sleep...

I would say they are Psilocybe Semilanceatas, I have seen many that look just like those. The fact you said there was a horse pasture 100 yards away says it all. A deer could have nibbled on a spore covered piece of grass in the pasture and then deposited a little fungi garden in the woods  or something like that

Theres no way they are Ps semilanceata they are a pasture mushroom that grows attached various species of monocots that grow in pastures. Pieces of wood are very far from where you would ever possibly find a semilanceata growing...unless of course there are wooddebris in a pasture in which case a Ps semilanceata may appear to be growing from wood. Lets scratch that as a possibiliy please.

The dimensions are otherwise like in medium sized Libs but the cap was little wider/more open with two specimens (about 1 cm high, 2 cm wide... stem 7-10 cm high and 2 mm thick)... and the smallest one was exactly like P. Semilanceata (as you can see in the 5th pic). Gills are chocolate brown when dry.
