that's a pretty stupid answer... he obviously hasn't got a scale.
do this. put the shrooms in a big envelope, also bring an identical envelope. take the two envelopes down to the post office and weigh them there. then subtract the weight of the envelope, voila the weight of the shrooms.

Thats a stupid answer. don't bring drugs to post office find a friend with a scale or buy one at a smoke shop since you will probably need one for a while.

Are you saying caluculate the dry weight based on the wet weight??
If so, just multiply the wet weight by .08, or:

You can make a pretty acurate scale. Take TWO PAPER CUPS and tie three strings to each cup and tie these to the oposing ends of a ruler. Find the center of gravity with your finger and balance the ruler. put a US NICKLE in one cup (this weighs 5 grams) balance the other cup with the item you want to weigh until it balances on your finger tip. When it is balanced you know you have 5 grams of whaterver....(or use two nickles for 10 grams...BUT NOO! You can't use a dime instead of two nickles!!)

All the name calling in here.... Sounds like some of us could use some stress management, like in the form of a blunt ;-)
Anyway, if you did want to purchase a scale which is what I recommend so you know your doses are accurate. check out ebay, search for "gram scale". I paid $40 for a nice digital scale that is accurate by .1 grams. A little pricey but it's something that I will use quite a bit. Peace.

if you grind the shrooms up and stuff them in to a size "00" gel cap then that will weigh 1/2 gram each

or if you still goto high school, you can lift a scale from the science room. my firend took a top quality scientific scale that is accurate to .001 of a gram.

DUde A QARTER WEIGHS 5 GRAMS fuck all those expensive scales and get yourself a nurtitional scale from your local supermarket for 4 meezly dollars and it comes with a cool little tray ... peace

you can accurately determine what the dried mass will be when fresh,
but if they are semi-dry it is a little harder.
there is a teaspoon-gram measurment (volume to mass)- believe 0.5g. actually
floating around the net somewhere for powdered shrooms =)

Heh, everyone arguing over which scales to use ; ) pretty funny. If you're a teen and you're doing shrooms chances are you've got friends that smoke pot or also do shrooms... ask around and you can probably find you a scale to borrow or you can pick up a little metal postage scale at wal-mart for a few bucks.

according to my scale a nickle weighs 5g not a quarter. that needs to be cleared up once and for all. If anyone's scale weighs a quarter at 5g I will give them my next print of EQ's

my trusty "guide book of united states coins" says a dime weighs 2.5 grams. a nickel weighs 5 grams. a penny weighs 3.11 grams. and a quarter weighs 6.25.
so what you could do is make a home made scale with a yard stick.put a quarter on one side and two dimes on the other. to make it balance, youde have to put 1.25 grams of mush with the dimes. waa-la

For cracker-dry shrooms, ground in a coffee grinder, one level tablespoon weighs about 3 grams. I have not verified this with a scale, someone please correct me if I am mistaken.
I use anywhere from a scant tablespoon to a heaping tablespoon of powder, depending on my anticipated set and setting.
To allow for variations in potency and sensitivity, start with something on the light side for your first bioassay. Also, avoid risky or stressful situations.
Shake the powder into some O.J. and chug. Enjoy.
