well, its just a question. me, i'm alright with em, they play some classic tunes, though the scene kinda pisses me off a bit. but fuck the 'scene' anyway. what do you think of jam bands, more the music than the 'scene'? or has the music become the scene? or

i'm in a jam band i suppose. I don't like the term cuz some times theres a negative connotation to it, but i love improv music cuz it can be quite beautiful to hear a group of musicians create something moving out of nothing. I'm in jamband but when i play with the group i try to bring elements into our music that are the oppistate of a traditional jamband style, such as noise solos, dissonant riffs, weird timing, and espessially dark ominous moody sound scapes.
If you guys would like to here a "jam band" that is a little different and and slightly evil sounding i'd suggest you check out "ozrick tentacles" those guys don't sound like a jam band but at the same time they are. Their style is dark and biazzare which is a good change of the feeling that a band like phish or string cheese creates.
Also..please check out my band. we have a less traditional sort of style which my might actually enjoy. Download one of the jams if you decide to check it out..."funk butter" and then "great googly moogly" are good places to start. Check it out and let me know what you think, i'd appreciate it

I love jambands, and I love the scene too, it's not all shady people, and I have a good feeling it's going to get like the old days again.

alot of cool scenes get really popular for awhile and they suck, and then they get back to their roots.
think: grunge, hiphop, electronica... they all had their cool roots, then their ultra uncool mtv type blow up and then they return...

It depends on the band. Some really suck. Some are good.
