Is 65-70 degrees too cold for pinning?

no. its a good temp for pinning, a few strains like it a little warmer but they will all pin at that temp

it can vary as to how long it takes, the bast thing is to pretend they arent there and check on them in about 3 days...

just wondering one more thing, do they have to be 100% colonized to pin? I'm pretty sure they are, but I was just wondering maybe if they weren't they wouldn't pin, but they're covered with mycelium which also has those rhizomes things comming out of it, which I've heard is a sign of good mycelium growth, so I dunno if that means they need more time to colonize or it's ok?

100% colonization is a little recognized pinning trigger, actually it's a survival trigger and when timed with your other pinning triggers can make for some awesome pinsets! FYI GL AKFK

At 100% colonization or shortly after cakes should be birthed meaning 12-16hrs. light exposure (optimum), fanning 4-6 times a day with a light misting after each fanning along with a 10 degree (optimal) drop in temps. AKFK you can incubate then until pins are noticed but then you would be wasting precious fruiting time! GL guys

Cool, I'm wanting to grow in the bag first, so should I just cut the top and use those tips or is there another way without opening it first?

Just wait until after the first flush... then open the bag. Your temperature sounds great.
Good luck

DOH! sorry been postin soo many thread my threads are getting jumbled bags are nice for doing casings mostly but I have done a ton of cased bags where I just cased reclosed the bags for a few days then cut the bags down to 1in. above the casing and packed into fruiting bins, this worked great at the time and yielded respectively. Hey call me a airhead!

Some pics, are these knots or mycelium balls? Some of em are actually pretty big..sorry the quality sucks. As of today still only two bags look like this, the others are still not doing anything and they were all treated the same so I dunno why they're so slow..

those are definately knots. the second pic down is primadora, you're well on your way to having mushies. good job!
although, next time i'd suggest trying to grow other ways, like casing. you could actually get your first flush and case the mycelium that's in that bag. something to consider.

it's not from a song, but the movie "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas." Fucking classic movie man. The scene in the hotel where the acid starts to hit him reminds me of my first acid trip.

go out and buy those disposeable #5 gladware containers they work really well for casings. though you could proably try casing directly in the bag not really sure how well that would work ive never ahd the oppertunity to work with them yet.

Also, my other bags still aren't doing shit, I was wondering if I should try to case them anyway, it's been slighty over two weeks already..I wish they would be more lke these guys..damn punks
