Growing other mushrooms with PF-Tek
    #3150811 - 09/18/04 03:44 AM (12 years, 7 months ago)

Ok, just so I can get better at growing I have made some non-psilocybe mushroom jars for practice. My question is can I grow other mushrooms with the basic PF tek? Or is it only for psilocybe mushrooms?

The mushrooms that I am trying to grow are Psathyrella Foenisecii (Lawn mowers mushroom) I went in my backyard and picked them off my grass and retrieved their spores.

Wrong forum. Try Gourmet and Medicinal. Dont worry a mod will move it for you.

You can, yes.
I have seen shiitake and oyster mushrooms grown this way.
BUT: please take into account that one cake will yield only around 50 grams fresh mushrooms over a period of a couple of weeks, which means you will have to make many, many cakes if you want to get a meal out of it.

Better check http://www.shroomery.org/gourmet .
