Can someone explain or direct me to where i can find out what spawning is? I have read quite a bit on this sight and understood most of it except for spawning?
Why do you want to spawn?
what are the benefits, if any?
and How?

Spawning is propagating one culture into another substrate for colonization. Ok, say you have some colonized cakes. At that point, you basically have three choices.
1) Birth the cake
2) Crumble the cake and apply a casing layer on top
3) Crumble the cake into a bulk substrate and allow to colonize
#3 is spawning.
