San Pedro and its availability in your nurseries
    #3145430 - 09/16/04 08:14 PM (19 years, 6 months ago)

I thought I'd conduct a little survey regarding the local availability of San Pedro cactus in nurseries across the US (or wherever). I'm going out tomorrow to check 3 or 4 nurseries near me. I've been meaning to for years... Hopefully I'll score a few. So, have you found any in a nursery near you? If so, whereabouts do you live (no need to be specific) and at what cost? I think I remember reading several years ago at another board that San Pedro is more common in the south and southwest US nurseries than in other regions.

SOUTHEAST USA, none as well.

Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A Prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded.

yeah southern cali has em at home depot, walmart, lowes, k-mart, and even target. nurseries sell em larger and cheaper. 3footers for 20 bucks with at least another 1 footer there. our shroom hook-up told us he knows of some on some beach.. i have seen them inpeoples front yard here and there..
funny thing is most people around have never really tried it.

Well I'm sad to say I have been to every Lowes, HD, Target, walmart, kmart, out house, hen house, and local nursery here in the N VA. DC Area.

Nothing!!

I found one possibility in Target but didn't have my list on me that day, and wasn't sure, it wasn't there by the time I got back.

Well if i go to Target, Wal-Mart, Home Depot or Lowes, not to mention the local nurseries i can find all the Pedro i need. Its about $15 for 12"-24" pup. The nurseries probably are cheaper. Funny thing is i bought all the San Pedro from the Targets and Home Depots in my area then found out i had four growing in my front yard. Wasted over a hundred bucks buying pups, but i planted them so now ive got like 14 cactus.
