is it safe

i just got a 100W submesable heater and i want to know it its safe to put it in a plastic tub with tub over tub tek when filled with water? it wont melt plactic?

It shouldn't get that hot, but I would get something to brace it in the space between the tubs so that it isn't touching anything that will melt or potentially catch fire.

100 watt heater wont melt plastic unless its faulty and sets your house on fire.

i put mine inside a flower vase so not to melt the tubs..

In cheaper plastic tubs it can melt the plastic as they stay on until water reaches the preset temp which can take quite a few hours and if they're in direct contact it could pose a problem. So do the SMART thing and just simply put it in a tall glass on it's side or lay a piece of plate glass in the bottom first which also works, cheap insurance is smart insurance! :wink:
