Mushroom Identification help
    #3143539 - 09/16/04 02:51 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

-I found These Mushrooms In a primary school sports field, In Northern West B.C. about 100-200 Km from the coast (Near Prince Rupert, the same latitude as the Queen Charlottes.) They where groing in the grass.
-The gills appear to be brown (Darkish brown) and some of them appear to take on a slight purplish color (could just be the power of suggestion though.)
-The caps range from 1.1cm to 3cm wide (Only 1 cap was that large the next biggest where all around 2.7cm) and from 0.5cm to 1.0cm tall. The stems where 3cm to 7cm long.
-The mushrooms smell like Household variety mushrooms (when I put my nose right up to them)
-So far I havent observed any bruising (at least nothing I'm sure of)
-The spore prints are choclate brown to dark brown with the thickest few almost appearing black.

Here are a few pictures:

They look like Psilocybe Mushrooms to me, But it's my first time picking em so I realy don't know.

Panaeolina foenisecii and perhaps some Conocybes mixed in. Nothing active. Nothing worth eating.
