I thought dry eddibles would taste good, but I just got a random selection of them(many kinds) and I cant really eat them.
So if I cook them in soem margarine, and garlic, I guess they would tatse better??
maybe soup???
I just cant describe the taste , but I find it odd.
What are your thoughts on edibles , fresh only???
Or can dry be ok, as long as they are rehydrated and cooked?

the very little info i have read about a couple varieties always mentioned rehydrating before cooking. but then people use some to powder and use that, fairy rings for example.

I've tried dried chanterelles, it was like chewing on beef jerky. I soaked them for an hour and they didn't soften up very much.
On the other hand, I have pounds of dried morels that I eat all the time. Rehydrate for about half an hour and you can fry them, bake them, saute them etc. The only requirement with morels is you must cook them.
