So why are we paying so much for filter disks?
    #3109417 - 09/08/04 05:43 PM (19 years, 6 months ago)

I am aware that micron magic is not around and for what ever reasons i don't care. I have a hard time justifying the purchase of filter disks from other suppliers at twice or three times the price. Is there a vendor i am not aware of? what is the cheapest known price for filter disks? What about tyvek or other disk substitute? I tried tyvek with little success. any input is welcomed

the MM filter disks were not tyvek.

Personally, i absolutely loved them. i got at least 5 uses out a single disk and 3 single disks could be cut from the disks he sent.

i recently decided to order more (his site is still active). for something that can be mailed in a freaking envelope he wants to stick you for >$8 shipping. i tried to contact him as i figured this was just an automatic minimum UPS shipping charge for any online order. i relayed that i would be happy to complete my order if he offered more reasonable shipping. he simply never responded to my email.

anyway, i know of no vendor who offers that same material. does anyone know where to get that specific material in bulk? post office tyvek offers significant visibility and longevity problems for my methods.

On a hunch, I tried contacting MM and was successful.

He was willing to drop the shipping charges and send 1st in light of the apprehension I expressed over prior allegations.

i would hope that he gets his email act together as it seems to be the real issue that got a shitstorm started to begin with.

I believe that DebianLinux is refering to MushMush.

If so, their site can be found at http://www.mushmush.nl/
