Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Are you sure the other syringes are lure lock syringes? Lure lock syringes are not as cheap as the regular ones.

I don't know Mcman, I asked captainmax once and he told me lurelock, 10cc shipping included for a buck but had to buy 10 at a time. thats all, I found some 12cc syringes today for 29 cents but they were lurslip, and the needles were 23 cents i believe, but lurslip?? LOL oh and captainmax said needle included, it's not a bad price and I'm not trying to give catlas a hard time, just thought I point that out, and is he shipping to US? on his site it said $1.50 + shipping and handling, shit, that's just too much to pay for empty syringes.

As of yet we have not shipped to the states. However we will try. I am sure the supplies will get through customs with little troble but I am not so sure about the Spore Syringes. Base shipping and handling on the lure lock syringes is $1.00 Cdn, plus $0.05 more for each additional syringe. We only offer empty syringes for those who have difficulty obtaining them. Personally I would recconmend one purchase syringes locally as they are easy to get.

No the current bundles are not with lure locking syringes. Reason being that we can only get lure locking syringes in 10 CC. I prefer to sell 12 CC syringes ( 12 jars in a box, 1 CC per jar). In fact with our 12 CC syringes we try and load them up as full as we can get them so our customers get a bit extra for their money. The current pricing on our Equador spore syringe bundles is a special introductory price so we can demonstrate the quality of our product. This strain is a very fast colonizer and does produce a superior fruit.

dude you could advertise 10cc then suprise folks with the 12cc, people would rave about this. this would make people think they are getting their moneys worth. I bought 2 syringes a while back can't remeber from who but it was 10cc then when I got the package it was 12cc, that was really cool........

Good luck with your enterprise. You might think about trying to gain some credibility by posting here for awhile, people are wary of buying off strangers. Especially those who don't even know if they can send syringes over the border or not but claim to be a vendor. You are obviously new at this and you should know that spore vendors are are expected to be almost 'experts'. You will be required to answer many questions. Example: PF wrote his own tek and has been around for years. Ryche has many, many strains and years of experience. I have 10 years experience as an amateur mycologist. Other vendors are also 'leaders in their fields.'

I wish you well in your endeavours. I have a few doubts though about your pricing. Shipping charges in Canada are killers. I ship express post and it isn't uncommon for a package to run 8 or 9 bucks in Canada for shipping alone never mind to the states.
Also I suggest that you find another supplier for your syringes. I pay $16 canadian for 80 12cc luer lock syringes and about $8 for 100 11/2"x18g needles
For me to charge $1.50 would be about a 600% markup.
Don't take this as a flame but merely constructive criticism. If you are going to gain the goodwill of this community you are going to have to revise your pricing

Well we finally got our prices sorted out. Currently we only have the two strains ready to go, Equador and an Amazon strain. The prices for a bundle of three spore syringes is now $12.50 Cdn + S&H which varies depending on your prefered method of shipping.
Our syringe prices are still high in comparison to other vendors. Unfortunately until we find a new supplier that will have to remain the same.
We will be adding a bunch of new lab supply products as soon as we get confirmation on pricing. The items we are currently looking to add are:
agar, flasks, pipettes, inoculating loops, and silica gel
If you have any suggestions of other labware that you would like to see please let us know.
Also we are looking to expand our collection of spores. We are willing to trade our two current strains or if you can offer us a large collection of different spore strains at a reasonable cost or in trade for some of our other products please let us know.
Thanks again for all the comments that we have gotten on the site. We hope to be adding some more tecs, and hopefully pictures as soon as we can. Again if you have suggestions in these areas please let us know.

I am not looking to make alot of money from being a spore vendor. I do not have very much experience in this area however I am partnered with a very experienced person who has been helping me with the technical questions. Our goal with the site was to be able to provide spores to Canadians while collecting more strains ouselves. A friend of mine is working on her graduate degree in mycology, and she also provides us with technical information. I recently found this message board and I am trying to contribute as much as I can. In fact I have a lawyer friend of mine going over the legalities of shrooms in Canada and I hope to be able to post that soon.
As for shiping to the US we never really thought we'd get very many orders in total, and even fewer from the US. I just got off the phone with US customs and they have outlined the procedure to ship syringes to the US. From what they told me it is perfectly legal to do so as long as a dollar value is attached to the package and it is marked made in Canada. I am sure there is more to it and when I recieve the paperwork from them, if any one is interested I will post the information. Maybe Shroom Guild will some day evolve to be a leader in its field, we all have to start somewhere right?

Hey catlas,

I just sent the spore syringes you ordered. I was kinda surprised to realize you are running this 'company' with 'lawyers and mycologists'. A big outfit like yours should be able to obtain spores without resorting to ordering them like a common teenage mushroom grower!

By the way, where is your friend taking her mycology course? I'm just curious because I have a friend who is a professional mycologist and I remember him mentioning once that there are only a couple places that offer such a degree.

She will be taking a course under some Proffessor in Ottawa. I will get his name for you. We are not a big outfit, in fact your outfit is likely double our size. Its not lke we have a paid mycologist or lawyer on hand. My lawyer happens to be a good personal friend of mine. I have no staff and the money get from the spores covers their shiping and allows me to order more strains from you.

another thought, capt., when someone sends you an order from the US, and pays in US currancy, do you refund the difference of the currancy exchange? or do you keep that for yourself? maybe you send a couple of extra spore syringes? or maybe some prints. what do you do to make up for the difference?

and for all you people who think this is small change:
$25.00 US = 38.3125 canadian.
or buy from capt. max and send him,
$16.31 US, which = $25 canandian

I supply spores for people who want to grow themselves a few
shrooms. I'm not in the business of setting up competitors.
You don't see Wendy's selling Big Macs do you? Of course
not, they got thier own product. And maybe some of these new
'vendors' should think about bringing something new to the
table instead of scrounging others scraps. Go tramp the
jungles or woods yourself or use your mycological
connections around the world to obtain something new.
As for SporeLab prices, ours have always been as good as
anybody else's. Single syringes have been priced in line
with all other reputable vendors, at $12 each. We were the
first in Canada to offer 3 for $25 because we are the first
spore vendors in Canada. We respect our fellow reputable
vendors and don't endevour to start any 'price wars'.

As for the exchange rate, that is simple economics and I bet
you didn't complain 30 years ago when it was the other way
around. If you don't like it now, go complain to your new
president about the US dollar being worth more than the
Canadian. Maybe he'll raise your interest rates.
And $37.50 Canadian is not that much money. It's only $25 US
and thats all it buys me if I shop on the internet or go
across the line for some cheese and beer.
and as for you rolfstir, i try hard to bring the world NEW
products like Ps. cyanescens in syringe form or prints,
Tapalpa cubensis and the upcoming new stain from Down Under,
the Wollongong from south of Sydney.

all you do is suck people in to donating prints to your so
called 'fsr'
are those the ones your hawking for $10 on the 'free spore
ring' page? what a scammer
why don't you get off your ass and find something new
instead of leeching off others
SporeLab is in it's 4th year of business. we'll see how long

your in canada, your price is 3 for $25 canadian, $25 US =$ 38.31 canadian , your making an additional $13.31 canadian, just because the customer is from the US. i will make sure EVERY US buyer is aware of your practice. oh yeah, spore lab prices are just as good as every other vender, only you charge the customers from the US 53% more.

Jim, the difference in the exchange rates covers higher shipping costs as well as the extra time it takes to do the paperwork for customs. I do the exact same thing as Max and the cost is justified IMHO
Anytime that you ship across borders the shipping and handling charges go up. For instance, I ship myself 30 syringes at a time from Trail to Colville WA. The shipping charge is $18 postal charge and it is only 20 miles away. Then I have to package them for shipping to the customer and pay an additional $3.50 US per package to mail them priority.
Now Max doesn't cross the border and reship but I can guarantee that he is paying through the nose for the Canadian Postal service fees. I know I do and unlike the US postal service, the Canadian postal service charges for boxes. The Canadian equivalent of the US priority post box that I use is about $2.25 Canadian each.
Trust me...if Max is making money off the exchange then it is maybe a buck or two.

that $37.50 Canadian buys the same in Canada as $25 US buys in the US
it's all relative

by his way of thinking, every vendor in the US is a thief because they charge Canadians in US dollars
perhaps if i was in mexico, he would want to pay in pesos

he just doesn't understand that the american and canadian dollars are two different currencies

jim, what is so hard to understand here? If I send Max $25 US, that's 25 dolars that I only have to pay, who cares what the exchange rate is, I still am only paying the 25 dollars. why can't U understand that $25 in the US = $25, and in canada, $25 = 37.50, in other words if max sent you 37.50, it would only be worth $25 US.
