New Song - "Birth of a Fool"
    #3140637 - 09/15/04 09:30 PM (12 years, 6 months ago)

This has been on the shelf for a while, but I don't consider it done. I've gotten renewed inspiration for the track after more analyzation of Debussy and Webern in my 20th Century Theory class.

Anyways, check  Here and listen to the first one "Birth of a Fool". Let me know what you think.

It goes great with headphones, closed eyes, and a bowl

first it reminded me of selected ambient works 2 but fortunately it got better
I really like it when the drums come in (what kind of effect do you use there?) a little boards of canada/biosphere kinda ambiance imo.
interesting sounds, nice panning here and there to make it more interesting. good job

Thanks for the kind words.

When the drum lick finally comes in, the sloshy rotating sound is the drumbeat run through dfx Geometer. http://www.smartelectronix.com/~destroyfx/ that whole page has bad ass effects and instruments.

BoC/Biosphere... well thank you! I guess your favorite acts have a subconscious influence. I agree, the early atmospheric stuff is very Biosphere.

Wow, some of those lead instuments sound trippy as hell...

Would be so fun to listen to if drunk..

Sorry, I can't get alcohol off my mind these days...

haha...

AHH NEED BOOZE!

But yeah, i thought I was the only person who ever used intense effects on drums. Cool stuff man.

i took your advice and put on headphones,
sparked a joint, closed my eyes, and hit play...

i hadn't smoked ganja in over 2 weeks,
so it was an intense, almost psychedelic high.

Birth of a Fool has a great atmospheric intro,
and the groove has a nice way of sneaking up,
i really dig the sloshy beat, felt like i needed a towel.
very nice organic / electronic blend...
