casing tray
    #3135850 - 09/14/04 06:42 PM (20 years, 4 months ago)

What is the best casing tray. Will those gladware plastic containers melt in the PC? And would it be a good idea to cover with lid for the first few days?

You don't PC your casing trays! You can use a variety of tray  like containers, you can even use a bowl   You can use Magash's plastic containers or even large flats depending on how big an OP your going after

Clear containers can be very useful to spot contamination or side/bottom growth. But then you do have to worry about covering the bottom and sides with tin foil or some other method to prevent bottom or side pinning.

Hey Hyphae - Do you worry about not being able to see contamination with those black trays? Or are you pretty much beyond contamination? By the way - those trays look awesome!!

It' not often you get contams on the sides of a casing, its usually on the top. Clear containers also cause problesm with in vitro.

Those are plant flats right? How deep are they? Do you have to doubble em up or do they stand up well.

Those are regular horticultural grade flats and they hold up well, they even provided alot of nice shrooms out of the slits in the bottoms. BTW these are not my personal pics, they are from a very respected friend that takes his shit very seriously and is one of the most knowledgable growers I've ever met! I consider him a mentor as well.

ahhahaha, how do you expect for him to get an even layer of myc in the casing without using multiple jars? Especially that large casing at the top...
