... Im a first time cultivator, who made the mistake of ordering a kit (duh). I ordered the kit in the beginning of march, and innoculated on march 14th. It took 3 weeks to see ANYTHING at all, and now May 10, my jars are still not fully colonized, I have one at about 80%, one at 75%, one at 60%, and the rest are a lil behind. 10/12 jars have started, 2 havent. Everything seems to be going well... no contams, moisture looks great, been keeping a steady temp of 86. Its just driving me nuts that its taking so long. My strain is EQ... hopefully ill be able to birth 2 or 3 of these bad boys by this weekend....

Are you using 1/2 pint jars? Was this an agar kit or a multi-spore innoculation kit (The syringe/spore injection type)?

What temp are the jars in? Try raing the temps with a heating pad or something. If there is tape over the holes in the jars, remove it. Try turing the jars upsidedown.

Try removing the tape fromt he holes in the jar. Some people recommend removing it permenantly but i say, give er a breathing period of like an hour hten put em back on. I had some stalled jars that completed colonization using that technique

ya, the colder your mycillium is, the slower it will grow... but try not to get it above 90 degrees though.. that would kill the precious fungi.
