It depends. I don't think it would make much of a difference.

That is a possibility. They might also simply decide to rob you of your weapon and leave you alone. Or they might decide to flee, and you might decide to kill them, making them the victim of violence.

Mostly, people that break in are after weapons. The weapons stolen from irresponsible gun owners are un-traceable to real criminals. If you do choose to own a weapon, you'd better be prepared to use it.

wow, your piece of dialogue that is constructed to sound fake really makes a deep point and I'm sure that all people who intend to commit violence think in that manner. You show brilliant insight into the criminal mind.

You make a compelling point yourself. Maybe we should outlaw 'the criminal mind' and 'criminal thoughts' while we're at it.
Here's a couple more thoughts for ya....
First gun control
...then total control
When vitamins are outlawed, only outlaws will have vitamins
Gun control isn't about guns its about CONTROL
Three step plan to save our children from killer pastry:
1. Regulate and register desserts
2. Sue the dessert industry for failing to prevent heart attacks
3. Ban desserts completely.
