It looks awesome and complete to me, fruit it!

Overlay is hard and sort of like a shell or film of mostly dried out/dead mycelium which the stuff underneath won't fruit through. It looks like you just have rhizomorphic spikes all over and it also looks like they are healthy. This is when you want to initiate fruiting. You should have a great pinset from the looks of it.

Make sure you have a pinning strategy.

introduce low temps, light and fresh air all at the same time and you should see a strong pin set.

Looks good except for it may have been initiated a little late. Other than that I sure hope it's been in the fruiting chamber for the last 4-6 days, Thats where the timing of your pinning strategy plays the most effective roll. GL

well its been in the fruiting chamber for about the last 6-7 days now, ever since i saw the first bit of mycelium poke through which i patched then placed it in the fruiting chamber to fruit. ive been misting and fanning 4-5 times a day at least sometimes more though i never mist more than 4 times a day. i also have a couple of 2 liter soda bottles in there to help with the tempature drop. its also exposed to light for about 2 hours a day mabey more. if thres anythign im doing wrong or that could be imporved please let me know id like to have as sucsessful a grow as possible. also if anyone could take a guess as to when this casing might fruit so i could mabey get a time frame that would be great too. thanks to all the help and quick replys i can already tell that this place is going to be a huge help to me in my future growing attempts.

Increase light exposure to 12hrs. a day. I have seen this help with pinning even though they say even a half a millisecond can trigger pinning I've seen dramatic improvements by increasing light exposure. GL

well it still baisically looks like that except that the spikes have sort of joined together to form these little white cottony bumps that dont really seem like hyphal knots. is this normal or am i just being impatient. it seems like its never going to fruit.

Please clarify how long its been in for. That statement is contradictory.

Listen to Hyphae, you need more than 2 hours of light. GL

how is that contradictory? i put it in the fruting chamber before i made this post. the pics i posted is what happend after i patched the first mycellium to poke through the casing layer and placed in the fruiting chamber to intiate fruiting.its been in there for about 8 days now i put it in there on the 8th of this month.

So they were in the fruiting chamber, then you patched then you put them in the fruiting chamber.

I think you meant to say you put them back into the fruiting chamber, or you left them in fruiting chamber. That statements implies you put them in the fruiting chamber twice.

I believe he incubated until first sight then patched and initiated fruiting which is how ya do it IME. At least thats the way I took it? Either way patience is a virtue!

I dont see what you mean...if you read what he says:

"its been in the fruiting chamber for about the last 6-7 days now, ever since i saw the first bit of mycelium poke through which i patched then placed it in the fruiting chamber to fruit"

Its been in the fruiting chamber for about a week which was when he patched the casing and moved it to the fruiting chamber (assuming from the incubator). Thats how I see it...

Anyways, looking good.. Lots of fun coming to your tummy.
