Hallucinations through illness
    #3133676 - 09/14/04 11:33 AM (12 years, 2 months ago)

Anyone had severe hallucinations whilst sick?

In my first year of university I had a bout of 'Asiatic Flu'

The symptoms were like a scene in Jacobs Ladder, I felt freezing cold despite my temperature hitting the roof, my girlfriend forced me into an ice cold bath out of fear that I'd overheat at one point.

Anyhoo - one night, whilst burning up, I saw this parade of small cowboys running and leaping around my bed jabbering "mitch has gone done and died" "yep reckon I do" and other stupid statements.

In my highly confused state the main thing I was thinking was they they were trying to construct a giant gun called love. Pretty sure that this was due to my feeling horny, despite the illness, but not being able to do anything about it.

Insane!

I got food poisoning one time from bad chicken. I got so sick i went into delirium. I kept hallucinating that i was in this maze and i couldnt get out, I kept mumbling to myself to get out of the maze. Incredibly sharp stomach pains and tunnel vision made it real bad.
I couldnt see anything and my throat was so dry.

One of the worst times ive ever been sick.

When I was a fair bit younger (12) I was sick and at home one day. I was playing Super Mario 3 a fair bit and as my fever rose and was waiting from some siblings to return from their school who were perceptively late (to me anyway, who knows whether they really were) I became convinced that a: bowser had got my siblings and b: that some sort of ninendo boss was shooting arrows into my side.

Whenever I get a fever I tend to get varying levels of delerium.

I once awoke in a state of deleria, in which I was saying random shit like "We must connect all 4 corners of the bed to go back!" to my sister at 2 in the morning.

I was about 13 or 14 at the time, it was fucked up and I was freaking out hard. I was walking back and forth all panicky in a corrider of the house, but then I went back to bed and fell asleep, after my sister agreed "YES, we must connect the corners, now go to sleep".

During that little trip I felt like I had lost all control of EVERYTHING. It was intense, but no more than being 6 years old, and lost from your parents in a mall.

I remember when I was a little kid, I was sick with something, I don't remember what it was, but I had a really high fever and I remember my hands and the pillow I was lying on growing bigger, and hearing an enraged argument of jibberish going on inside my head that I couldn't stop, it was a really scary feeling for a little kid.

I remember a few years ago, I had a terrible flu. Everywhere I looked was terribley distorted, like on a visually strong mush trip. Sleeping was the worst part though. I could never tell if what I was doing was real, or a dream. Complete dissassociate from my body. God, that was terrible.

Hmmm .... on second thought, maybe I just had too much robo ...

I got sick one night and awoke from sleeping. I remember looking at my fireplace from the bed and it was a closeup view like I was a bug standing on the bricks. Then I went into the bathroom and puked.

I've only hallucinated once while sick. I was about 10 or so and during a period of particularly high fever I became convinced that the sky was going to fall and crush me like the ceiling in a horror movie. I was terrified and tried to inform my parents of the problem but all that came out was gibberish. I was told after that I had been saying something like "featherette and jet aren't real."

The strange part at the time was that I didn't even hear the words I was saying. I had in my mind the idea of what I wanted to convey, but I guess the speech center of my brain just turned it into nonsense.

Once I had bronchitis and I didn't sleep for 3 days. I saw floating eyes looking at me, and the girl from the ring. I also saw surfaces bend and colours flashing.

I always 'hallucinate' when I've a fever. The last time was a few years ago. It was like a 24hour Salvia trip. Strange dimensions, feelings, patterns... I've had it before I ever tripped, but the last time I experienced it as a trip and it wasn't that horrible. I think tripping before made the fever hallucinations pretty cool and interesting!

when i was really young like seven or so i had a fever over a 101 and i awoke in the middle of the night screaming and when i jumped up and started looking around my entire bedroom looked like a dark forest and i thought their were glowing yellow eyes everywhere, the really weird part was my mom was sitting right next to me trying to calm me down be i couldnt see her. i still remember that shit 20 years later.
