Hey,
I too live in Alberta. But I live up in the Rocky Mtn. House Area. So far from what I've seen it looks like you should just grow your mush for yourself. But I do have a list of shrooms that grow around Alberta. I found this on the shroomery somewhere.

Alberta
Amanita muscaria (Ammirati et al., 1985)
Conocybe kuehneriana (Schalwijk-Barendsen)
Gymnopilus luteofolius (Schalwijk-Barendsen)
Gymnopilus sapineus (Schalwijk-Barendsen)
Gymnopilus spectabilis (Schalwijk-Barendsen)
Panaeolus subbalteatus (Schalwijk-Barendsen).

No dont go west......Go north to edmonton.....They grow in rampid flushes in my basement greenhouse.
