what the hell, this program is unlike anything I'm used to..I downloaded it from a torrent and I must say I haven't given it much of a try. But it's kind of got me scratching my head.
I wouldn't say I'm confused, but I don't really know where to start.

first figure out what you wish to do with it, then find some tutorials or something that give you the basics. Illustrator is a very elaborate program

And Very bad ass.
I feel your confusion, I'm just learning the program as well, and I can only imagine the depth of shit you can do with Illustrator.
Also, the help file that comes with Illustrator is enormously helpful. It does well explaining tons of operations and shortcuts, and where to find things. But there are tutorials available online.
Cue Milky and HB in 5...4...3..

its not like any program because its a vector based program. the best thing its for is making logos and such. there is much depth with what you can make in illustrator. BUT... there is much much limits too. one good thing about it is that since theyre vector images, you can rezise your image to any size without compromising quality.
