Just after a bit of advice on weening salvia cuttings into a different environment. I have 5 plants at the moment that are about 15cm (6 inches) tall. They are in a transparent plastic storage bin with 4x20w compact fluoros above them. My problem is they are now hitting the top of the container and I'm going to need to move them.
Also I'm running a 250w HPS for my cacti, HWBR etc. and I am wanting to move them in there just so that I'm making the most of my closet space and lighting from the 250w. I have arranged the closet so that the light-loving plants are on a platform raising them up closer to the light and then there is some spare space to the sides of the platform that is further away from the light. This is where I am going to put the salvia so that the light isn't too intense for it.
So anyway I'm planning on getting some clear plastic to make a little tent for them considering the humidity in the closet at the moment gets as low as 40, which I'm assuming is too low even for hardened salvia.
I tried putting one of my plants on my windowsill and after a few hours the edges of the leaves had started turning brown / black.
So yeah what do you salvia growers reccomend as a good procedure for succesfully weening them in to their new environment?
