Hey guys. Sorry if this is a redundant question, but i really didn't know how to look for the answer using the search. My wall hanging is using perlite on the bottom of a fruiting chamber, about 1 inch of water and 1 and a half of perlite, and in some places 2 (because it couldn't get it even, wall hangings have a hard time with that).

So anyway, it's having to mist continually, because the water that was on the sides of the terrarium evaporates and is gone within 2 hours or so. Shouldn't this not have to be done if there's perlite on the bottom with a healthy portion of water? It's kinda irking my hanging, he's got more pressing stuff to do than worry about watering so much. It's just confused, sorry again if this is redundant.

edit:
Of course the lid is on, but it's not an airtight lid by any means. If fact it doesn't even snap on, it's just two peices of plastic that fit together nicely to form a top that can be opened. I'm sure you've seen em, they're Sterilite brand.

haha alright, well that one's fair. I actually thought that the increased air flow using the cracked lid method would help, you think that too much moisture is escaping?

yeah... it probably is. thanks guys!

I use a Sterilite bin too... you have to add water more often than most, but it works just the same. Since the seal isn't perfect, I figure if I add the side drill holes filled with Polyfil, then the CO2 can drain out (I don't have an air pump guys). Is your lid worn out or something? It snaps on in 2 places, the sides with the handles. Kind of Wal*mart ghetto attachment, really. I'm going to invest in a Martha closet next payday. If you still want to go with the PMP method, then get a better tub. Otherwise, I don't have a clue as to why it's not working.

BTW, what do you mean by wall hanging? Could you post a pic?
