Question on my new pressure cooker..
    #3131770 - 09/13/04 09:04 PM (20 years, 4 months ago)

I just bought a 8 qt pressure cooker... but the bottom of the metal plate that you put the jars on is only a few centameters from the bottom of the cooker, so my q is how much water would I put in there for best results? Thanks for any replys

usually you want water about an inch to an inch and a half up the sides of the jars, but read your instruction manual, cause it varies from pc to pc.

OK another quick q, should I put the jars and water in at the same time so that both get hot evenly, or should I start to let steam gather?

you want to raise the temp slowly, or your jars will crack from the heat change. so you want to have the jars in to begin with.
