Prepare a solution of 1:9 ratio H202:Water. (the H202 isn't 100%necessary but is a good idea) Fully submerge the cake(s) in the water in a clean container (use a sterile object on top of the cake to help since cakes float) and let sit for 12-20 hours. You can also put the cake in the fridge as a "cold shock". Don't leave for more than 20 hours because mycellium can drown.

Some will say that it usually isn't necessary to dunk before the first flush since there should be an appropriate amount of water left in the cake, and dunking would be best after the first flush and after every successive flush thereafter until the cake is spent.

good luck

Seems like a good thread for my question:

Why do people just use water in a dunk? Wouldn't dunking in something like a broth infuse the substrate with more foody-goodness? I'm assuming that cakes stop producing flushes because they eventually run out of shroom food, so wouldn't some extra nutrients in the dunk water help keep them going longer?

Act it's the oppisite. Three things tell a cake when to fruite, light, co2 exchange and a lack of substrate to eat. Soak em in broth you will just delay fruiting and most likely cause contams before that happens anyway.
