When is it better to take the cake out of the jar, when the mycelia is still fuzzy looking or when the mycelia is dense and compact?

Take it out when it's 100% colonized. It doesn't matter if it's fuzzy or compact.

I am not dunking. I am casing with peat verm and lime/gypsum. It is rye substrate. I was wondering if it mattered if the majority of nutrients were used from the grain?
