First Shrooms
    #312765 -

Hi,

First, thanks to everyone who helped me grow my first batch of shrooms.

But before I consume them, I want to first make sure I don't
die.

I used the Alien Substrate cakes which colonized with no visible contamination(all white). The first shrooms(B+) have grown to about 4 - 6 inches. However, the *bottom* half of their stems have very light green streaks and white hair all over them. I was wondering if this is normal for the strain, and whether I should throw them out or keep them.

Also, if I see light green blotches on a cake(a different one) AFTER it's been fully colonized, does it still mean it's dangerous?

Thanks.

Regards,

T. Durden.

Are you sure what you are looking at isn't blue?is it spreading on your cake? if it's blue it's just bruising. how's everything smell?

Streaks are perfectly normal, so is the fuzzy white at the bottom. One might suspect that fuzzy effect comes from the humidity being in the upper part of the fruiting zone (92+ RH).

On a second glance, the streaks are very very faint blue.

Everything smells fungilicious, and the green blotches are on
a different cake, but it doesn't seem to be spreading.

Thanks for the reply FarmerSmurf.

I remember reading in MMGM that excessive mycelium fuzz growth occurs when the humidity is too high

Thanks egghead.
