Auditory Hallucinations
    #312737 - 05/08/01 09:57 PM (23 years, 4 months ago)

Can some one tell me about auditory hallucinations. I always hear about the visuals, but I never hear about the auditory parts.

Can someone tell me about it? .. what are they like

Are they usually good, and if you hear them are they usually in sync with the visuals?

Like if you see a parrot, do you also hear the parrot?

I don't know how it is for others, but for me auditory hallucinations aren't just random sounds that pop out of thin air. For me auditory hallucinations may include echoing, the sound of someone's voice slooooooooowing down, someone's voice changing.. I kind of try to ignore the sound of someone's voice echoing...it makes me feel like im going crazy, and that's a big no-no when you're tripping

Never had auditory "hallucinations" except for hearing extremely detailed & structured music in my head, but then I'm a musician so I do that all the time (to a lesser extent) anyway.

Auditory ENHANCEMENT, hell yeah. Psychedelics (including herb) allow me to listen deeply into music, becoming totally absorbed, hearing every note as a cosmic revelation. And of course there is the synesthesia factor, where music is deeply FELT and SEEN (maybe even smelt and tasted) in the process of hearing or playing. I would love to be able to experience it that way all the time, even while straight & sober.

But then, I think I play best when clear & sharp (maybe stimulated on caffiene) & my fingers are mathematically precise.

I totally will sit there are and realize I've been listening to a conversation that didn't happen. Also, I used to smoke out with some friends in the woods in the boonies and I'd swear I could hear a tv running a maybe like 20 yards away.

Sometimes music will have a strange power, speaking like a great overseeing voice and you think you have to listen to it. But really you have a free spirit right to put on a different CD if you don't like what one is doing. It seems obvious now but when you doubt your motor skills it may not. Remember, if the music is a bad vibe, you CAN change it.

If you're in a audial trip thats the best time to grab some good music and listen with HEADPHONES.

I like this resonance
It elevates me
I don't recognize myself
This is very interesting

My headphones
They saved my life
Your tape
It lulled me to sleep

Wow, I haven't posted in a long time. But for me Auditory Hallucinations is when you see what you are hearing. This happened once at a peak of one of my 5 hit acid trips while listening to the wall live with speakers surrounded by me in a dimly lit room.

It was one of the most amazing tripping experinces I've had.

I totally agree with woodsman and exo,the best auditory hallucinations occur when at a point of sensory peak the senses sort of overload and start to create their own perception capable of seeing sound or hearing thoughts, which in reality is somewhat of a schizophrenic state.Nothing to worry about though if you can handle your shit and are prepared for and know what to do in case of these potentially scary voices.

i've had auditory hallucinations on high doses of acid, it was just strange noises.....
also, whenever i get a killer hit from a rock, people talking around me have a kind of electronic sound to their voices.... kind of like in that one beastie boys song inter galactic...

Thanks alot, anyone else?

I mean do any evil scary vioces in your head, is it like hear in your head, or do you thought you actually heard it.

Is that a big primary factor of the bad trip, is sound or manly visuals?

hmm well i usually "hear" shit like my mom saying: what are you doing in there? etc...fuckin scary cuz i cant tell if its actually her or not. lastime i heard CLEAR, LOUD knocking on my door but nobody was there...hmm...well its a combination of many things that make up a bad trip, visuals, auditory distortions, scary endless thoughts, the thought of never being able to get out of the labyrinth-ine thought processes scared me a lot when my bad trip started, that was much worse than the visuals and sound, much worse...its different for everybody and just hope you dont get a bad trip...if u think ur trip is gonna go to hell it probably will just think happy and remind urself its not real and it will go away after a while (writing that down on paper can help if u can read while tripping)

We're all mad here...

regarding the endless thought pattern it turned into a visual of my mind trying to break through endless layers of thoughts that i could never totally get through when i closed my eyes...since this is ur first time trippin u shouldnt worry much about bad trippin the first time especially on a low first trip dose just be cool and everything'll be alright

We're all mad here...
