South Eastern Ontario

Has anyone had success with wild mushrooms in this area? I basically live in the sticks, and was wondering: is it worth it to go out and hunt in my area, or a waste of time? Thanks.

I live in Niagara Falls, NY. What part of Ontario are you in?

No luck yet this season, but i've been slacking and have only really gone out past 2 weeks, and not often enough/long enough. Plus i'm fairly new to the whole hobby.

South eastern ontario, on the outskirts of a small town called Tweed. (1000 people). There's cow fields near me as well, but I dont think going there in broad daylight is a good idea..

As I said I'm new to the hobby

I always loved doing mushrooms but didn't consider going out and getting them myself until my cousin in Georgia took me out once. So in this area, no I havn't found anything, but a few years ago when I was still in school I used to have friends from youngstown who said they found shrooms in cow fields. Also we had Liberty Caps one time that were picked locally. So i'm hopeful.

I went out today in the woods by my house and picked tons of random mushrooms, so I can pratice identifying species and doing spore prints. I have 16 different caps dropping spores as we speak

I didn't find anything I believe to be active, and I wasn't expecting to in the forest. Cow fields/pastures are where they'll be hiding.

All my friends are from youngstown and we hang out down there all the time... we're going cow field raiding tonight infact.

Drop me a message or email me at: descending_from_grace@hotmail.com  if you wanna discuss possibly going out hunting together or smoke a jay or two.
