Dark patches on my casings--spores?

Hi all. Just picked some fruits that were dropping spores. When these were removed, it was quite clear that there was a purple/black patch below where the cluster had been. Is this normal? Do dropped spores make this clear of a mark on the casing layer?? THanks!

Yep that's normal, just spores.

And there is where God lives, where the dead live, the spirits and the saints, a world where everything has already happened and everything is known. That world talks. It has a language of its own. I report what it says. The sacred mushroom takes me by the hand and brings me to the world where everything is known. It is they, the sacred mushrooms, that speak in a way I can understand. I ask them and they answer me. When I return from the trip that I have taken with them, I tell what they have told me and what they have shown me."

The purple/black color is the key. And yes it's normal. You could pick slightly sooner if it bugs you (unless you want to make spore prints).

Yeah, I'm experimenting with spore printing, hence the waiting. Trying the 9er tek. I'm not too sure about this one, and things got a little dicey when I cut the caps off, so I'm not holding out loads of hope for this. Of course, the only way to know is to try. Thanks!

Thanks, Castanza. Just checked my little jars--top of the water is dotted with spores. Now, we'll just have to see if any contams floated in when I nnoc up some jars in a few days. Really, I should just follow Magash's tek in the future. Perhaps if my second flush comes along I'll make some dry prints. Cheers!
