super syringes

ok - I decided to make a syringe out of a whole print of GT, so there were a TON of spores in it!... I innoculated a batch of 5 1/2 pints 2 weeks after I did a batch using a regular ordered syringe. The super syringe batch has already surpassed the first batch and are almost completely colonized while the first batch is still lagging behind :shocked. This was all done under the same conditions and exactly the same substrate.
So, while I'm sure this is not a shock to many of you, I just wanted to mention it because I see a lot of people complaining about slow colonization times. So my advice is: Make your own super syringe using a whole print into one syringe. Prints and syringes aren't very difficult to make, and unless you're obsessed with the strictest economical practices, then why not waste a whole print to save yourself a load of time in the colonization process. This is obviously best to do with homemade prints, since bought prints are costly.
Another note: I'm somewhat of a newb, so if I've offended any seasoned veterans with any falseties or misconceptions, please be gentle and don't flame me, but I'm open to critisism.

I`ve been making syringe slurrys using 8-16 prints a syringe, im eventually going for a really thick spore liquid. Just seems kinda fun =p

My cat's in the process of making a super syringe, but she's going to have about 5 or 6 of them, and it's liquid myc. She tells me there's this B+ strain she got, that grows ridiculously fast, so about 16 liquid oz's are sitting atop her incubator right now, growing away. Isn't mycology fun?!?! Happy growing!

Some people seem to find that more spores = more growth, while others find no difference. For liquid inoculation at least, more spores is better.
Since there is no real downside and some people report better results, I think it's pretty clear that darker = better!

I would agree and I've had a very similar experience. Growth seems M U C H faster with fresh spores. I'm also of the belief that darker syringes colonize faster than clear, or colorless syringes.
Sure the clear syringes work, but it appears the full, dark syringes start much faster.
So i to believe "DARKER *IS* BETTER" !

Why do they, (fresh spores placed plentiful in a syringe) out perform anything i've ever purchased?

maybe it's the freshness factor...

I have noticed that very fresh spores dissolve into water extremely well. No clumping, as soon as you squirt the water into the container they mix instantly. Not atall like older prints.
This can only help for distribution of the spores to a larger surface area in a more uniform concentration rather than clumping which would likely have patchy consistency in the water that is delivered to the substrate.
Using a dark syringe would also guarantee that each unit of surface area of the substrate has a sufficient level of spore concentration to germinate on.
This is an interesting subject and I would love to see it laid to rest one day with us knowing what the deal is. I may take this discussion to the advanced side of things.

Indeed, maybe it would help in vendors making there syringes alittle more "darker". But its about the buck, so who knows even *IF* it's shown that more spores in syringes are benificial and *NOT* a waste, ( i personally believe it *IS* benificial from what I've seen)
i doubt that vendors would change. ( Oh well

Wouldn't a super mycellium syringe colonize a lot faster than a super spore syringe? I'm in the process of making a batch of honey water heavily concentrated with myc.

Just a thought: Maybe in the dark syringes, when injected into the jar, the extra spores become a source of energy for the quickly germinated spores. Spore cannibalism? Kinda like those wasps that lay eggs on spiders. Sorry this is such a weird idea.

Probably not plausable as the substrate is likely to be much higher quality food than spores themselves. An original idea though
