Ok first mushroom hunt ever for me and a friend and we walked around just looking for any little thing and we came back with a few things unknown to us. I tryed to follow the id guideline in the sticky as best as I could so here it is. These were found in maryland in a forest right next to my house on a oak tree. the stems are all around 1.25 - 1.5 inches long and the caps vary from 2 inches, 1.75 inches, and .75 inches wide. The stem is brownish orange and is thick and solid. The cap is also brownish orange and is flat / rounded. I couldnt really make out a good scent from it but it smells kind of minty haha. heres some pics taken with a camera phone.

Something we found laying around (i didnt describe this)

sorry guys im really new to this stuff.

The first ones look like Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) which is famous for its medicinal uses. The second mushrooms look like the Chicken Mushrooms (laetiporus sulphureus). These are good edibles, but unfortunately the specimens you found are too old and could cause gastrointestinal distress or allergic reaction. If you found them "laying around" they were most likely growing from a buried log or something of that nature.
Nice finds!

I live in Sweden. Can anyone tell me if shrooms grow here and if they do where do I find them and what do they look like. I've been searching in cow pastures but I have not found anything. PLEASE HELP ME, I really want to try shrooming sometime in my life.
