Ack... trying to pin, but my whole house is an incubator....
    #3119148 - 09/10/04 03:15 PM (20 years, 4 months ago)

Hey guys, quick question:
The temps in my house are around 84 during the day and 80 at night at the coldest. I've got one aquarium will just cakes on lids on perlite, and two aquariums of Ryche Hawk's 50/50+ casing. The cakes have been at if for about 5 days now. They are growing knots and fluffy mycelium all over. They look decent, I'm just wondering if I should worry about the high temps or not. Will the mycelium keep growing if its at 84 for half of the day? Is it worth buying tupperware and ice to lower the temps until they start to pin?

something that many people have found effective is freezing soda bottles that are filled with water and placing them in the terrarium.. you may want to try that
if not, air conditioners are soon to be going on sale...

Hmm.. even though your house is say 80, is there a place in your house that has say concrete flooring or less insulation?
