humidity

Hi, Af uses a terrarium where they spray to cause humidity. Now, although this is reasonably effective, he/she soemtimes finds it better to put the terrarium next to a warm heater or in direct sunlight - this raises the humidity in the terrarium by a lot (just visibily - noa ctual measurements). Is this an effective way of doing it without perlite?

It only appears more humid. You can`t guage humidity by condensation.

by putting them near a heater or in the sun for about 30 minutes and then taking them away appears to increase the condensation - surely after then removing the heat the extra condensation in the terrarium will allow for increased humidity much like water droplets on the sides of the terrarium help to increse it?

I can say that we have never used other techniques than having a bottem of water on the floor of the terrarium standing next to a radiator. This way we have eaten ourselves many shrooms, so this is possible! Maybe some can't grow without measuring those parameters (and controlling them) but we've had no complaints so far! We just look at the shrooms 2 see if humidity is 2 high or 2 low!

Wow, McMan, you seem to know a lot about what a shroom baby wants. Constant, slow evaporation...tell me how to make this happen for my little shroom babies. I am just using perlite, and achiveing 90+ % humidity. Is this non-optimal???? I fan every once and a while, but otherwise have no air circulation (in a big ass terrarium) I am a newbie in this area and would appreciate your informed opinions. Thanks.
