Personally I am new to shrooms, I tried them and liked them and have decided to go hunting. I live in Maryland and there is a big horse farm right next to my house I was wondering if this would be a good spot to look for some. Tommorow I am going hunting with a friend, the only problem is since I am new to shrooms I do not know how I would determine if they are editable or not and what to look for when hunting. Any info would really help. Thanks guys!
Well, first you need to look up which species grow in your area, that will give you a target.
Second, the only way you are going to find out if a mushroom is edible or not is if you take a spore print. You're gonna have to look up how to do that also.
And thirdly, you're lucky I'm a nice guy because most noobs like you get yelled at for asking questions that could be answered by "looking it up".

-------------------- In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion.
